Creating a home that truly supports modern family life requires more than simply adding space. It calls for thoughtful design, quality craftsmanship, and a clear understanding of how the client wants their home to feel and function.
This Newton Mearns project focused on transforming an existing property into a bright, stylish and highly practical family home. Working closely with the client, the brief centred on improving the overall flow of the house while creating open, connected living spaces better suited to everyday family life and entertaining.
The works involved reconfiguring key internal areas and extending the property to achieve a more seamless layout. By opening up the rear of the home, the new design allows natural light to move freely through the main living spaces, creating a warm and welcoming environment. The open plan kitchen, dining and living areas now form the heart of the home, with a strong connection to the garden.
Project Highlights
A standout design feature throughout the renovation is the installation of herringbone flooring across both the ground and first floors, bringing consistency, warmth and a contemporary finish to the entire property.

To further enhance the kerb appeal, a new front porch and anthracite PVC front doors were installed to the client’s exact requirements, creating a smart and modern entrance that complements the updated interior perfectly.
Attention to detail remained central throughout the build. From structural alterations to premium finishes, every element was delivered with care to ensure the new works integrated seamlessly with the original property.
The completed result is a cohesive and elegant family home that balances style with practicality, perfectly tailored to modern living in one of Glasgow’s most sought after residential areas.
